Ghana, Morocco sign 27 trade deals

The governments of Ghana and Morocco, have signed 27 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to enable the Maghrebian state invest in the West African country.

The MoUs were signed today Friday February 17 at the seat of government, the Flagstaff House, by both President Akufo-Addo and King Mohammed VI.

A representative of the Moroccan team, Mme Miriem Bensalah-Chaqroun, who spoke to the media at the seat of government after the ceremony, said: “The Ghana-Morocco forum recently held here in Accra brought together hundreds of entrepreneurs and it was an opportunity to devise new ways of cooperation. It also laid out the foundation for a new South-South integration.

“We have identified a vast potential of investment opportunities and sector of collaboration throughout – B2B (Business to Business). Our meetings and agreements will be signed today in that respect.

“The sectoral cluster helped us identify areas in mining and energy, finance, agriculture, agri-business, trading, and pharmaceuticals.”
