Donald Trump was widely criticised throughout the 2017 Oscars ceremony, with host Jimmy Kimmel setting the tone and maintaining the theme throughout.
Several nominees had registered their opposition to the Republican president before Sunday night’s ceremony had even begun.
On the red carpet, several stars threw their support behind the organisation who first challenged Mr Trump’s travel ban by wearing blue ribbons to the ceremony.
