Ivory Coast to end cocoa farming in national parks and forests within 5 years

Ivory Coast plans to end illegal cocoa farming in national parks and protected forests within five years, the minister for water and forests, Alain Richard Donwahi said on Monday.

The plan, aimed at stopping rampant deforestation, will target the 30-40 percent of Ivorian cocoa production that the National Parks office says is currently grown illegally in protected zones.
