Kayserispor forward Asamoah Gyan has been named in Kwesi Appiah’s 29-man provisional squad for the AFCON in Egypt.
Gyan retired from international football on Monday after a dispute with Head Coach Kwesi Appiah over the team’s captaincy, only for the 33 year old to old rescind his decision 48 hours later after President Akufo-Addo intervened in the matter.
The 29 consists of three goalkeepers, ten defenders, eleven midfielders and five strikers, with three locally based players making the cut.

The team will depart Accra, on Sunday, June 1, for pre-tournament preparations in Dubai, ahead of the competition. Of the 29 players, the final 23 will be named to represent Ghana at the tournament.
The GFA Normalization Committee has lined up two high profile preparatory matches for the Black Stars against Namibia and South Africa.
