President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

A Security Analyst,

and Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari to address Ghana’s recent kidnapping

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Citi TV, monitored by Adomonline, Mr Bonaa urged President Akufo-Addo to treat his suggestion with the urgency it deserves.

“President Akufo-Addo by this time should have been speaking to his counterpart President Buhari to let him know what his people are doing in our country and that we seem to have a problem with them in terms of kidnappings,” he stated.

“We need a
presidential statement where this issue will be dealt with to calm people down
because at the moment if this statement is not made we are all at risk,” he
added.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo, in a first public statement since the issue of kidnap dominated media reports, on Monday pledged his commitment to deal with the menace.

 “We are all
concerned about this phenomenon of kidnappings which we have not known. Our
brothers and sisters in Nigeria have known it, but we have not known it in this
country. We need to do something about it to make sure that this does not become
a feature of our society.

“I am very determined
on the issue and decisions are being taken as we speak that will be a clear
manifestation of the determination I have to deal with this matter,” he said in
a meeting with the Ghana Anti-corruption Coalition.
