The newly created Asokwa Municipal Assembly in Kumsai has unanimously endorsed the President Akufo-Addo’s nominee, Mr Akwanuassah Gyimah as its Chief Executive.

Mr Akwanuassah Gyimah received a 100 per cent YES votes from all the 16 elected Assembly Members to become the first MCE of the new Assembly.

In an address before the election, the Regional Minister, Mr. Simon Osei Mensah urged the nominee to be transparent and diligent in the handling of affairs at the Assembly.

He urged him to be guided by the developmental agenda of the municipality and to prioritise areas that needed the immediate attention of the assembly.

Madam Patricia Appiagyei, the Member of Parliament for Asokwa charged the newly confirmed MCE to hit the ground running by collaborating with all stakeholders in the Municipality to chart a development path for the Assembly.

Mr Gyimah, in tears of joy, thanked the Assembly Members for endorsing his candidature and pledged to work to ensure the Asokwa Municipality got its fair share of the national cake.

The MCE called for support from traditional leaders as well as residents in the Municipality to work collectively for the good of the community.

He pledged to operate an open door administration so as to allow everyone to have the opportunity to contribute to the development of Asokwa.

“I am committed to making sure the President’s vision for Asokwa is realized through the deployment of all the human and natural resource potentials embedded in it,’’ Mr Gyimah noted.
