Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has slammed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) blaming them for the demise of the former National Chairman of the party, Dr. Kwabena Adjei.
Sir John as he is affectionately called believes the NDC’s unfair treatment to their former Chairman caused his death.
According to him, the late Kwabena Adjei was a good man but unfortunately he was in a wrong party.
“Kwabena Adjei is a good man and so I was very hurt
and still hurt when I heard about his demise. They never treated him fairly
even to the point of his death. The NDC is a wicked party” he said on Asempa
FM’s Ekosi Sen Thursday.
Dr. Adjei was confirmed dead at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital at Ridge after battling with a protracted sickness. He died three days after marking his 76th birthday on March 9, 2019.
Dr. Kwabena Adjei was the NDC Chairman from 2005 to
2014 and was the Majority Leader in Parliament from 1998 to 2000.
But Sir John claimed the NDC neglected him [Adjei] after losing the 2016 general elections.
To Sir John, the late NDC National Chairman was frustrated and depressed following the neglect of a party he sacrificed to bring to power.
“The NDC was
just not fair to the man and even conspired and voted against him. Now that he
is dead, they will go in their numbers and mourn after being mean to him. He
was pained and that led to his death. I always say that you will never go to
heaven if you join a party like NDC and so I believe Kwabena Adjei in his next
life will come to the NPP because that is where he belongs” he stated.
