A staff of the Nsawam Branch of GCB Bank Limited, Agnes Asempana, has allegedly committed suicide by hanging.

42-year-old Agnes’ naked body was found hanging in a room with a nylon rope fastened to her neck at Ayekotse, a suburb of the Suhum Municipality in the Eastern Region.

Local sources say the deceased who was last seen on Friday, July 5, 2019, went to her two-bedroom apartment to pick some items only to commit suicide.

Her body was allegedly discovered by her brother, Bajerisong Lazarus, at about 4 pm when he went to visit her.

Eastern Regional Police have confirmed her death through Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Ebenezer Tetteh.

DSP Tetteh also revealed that no external marks of violence were detected on the deceased’s body to suggest any foul play.

He, however, indicated that investigations will continue to clear any doubts surrounding the incidence.

The body has since been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
