The 45th President of the United States (US) of America, Donald J. Trump, has shared a photo of the “wonderful” dog that played a key role in the capturing and killing of ISIS leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Announcing the death of the ISIS leader at a press engagement earlier, President Trump said capturing the ISIS leader had been his top priority since he assumed office some three years ago.
Throwing more light on what it had gathered after the US led operation, the CNN reported that a “year-long hunt for Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi came to a dramatic end this weekend as US forces overcame gunfire, a booby trap and explosive vests during a raid in northwest Syria. The ISIS leader ‘blew himself up’ when cornered by US military personnel who conducted the two-hour nighttime raid.”
Baghdadi — who
declared a so-called Islamic caliphate in Iraq and Syria in 2014 — was one of
the most wanted terrorists in the world.
In a tweet, President Trump singled out a special dog to praise its effort in the capture and killing of the ISIS leader.
“We have declassified a picture of the wonderful dog (name not declassified) that did such a GREAT JOB in capturing and killing the Leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi,” he said.
