Ghana is set to compete in fifteen sporting disciplines at the upcoming 12 edition of African Games.

This was confirmed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports after the controversial debate to drop some disciplines including football.

The male U-20 team, Black Satellites have been nominated to represent Ghana at the football section.

This was confirmed after there were initial plans to exclude football for Team Ghana at the games.

Morocco’s capital Rabat is set to host the 2019 African Games which comes off between the 19th and 31st of August.

The Ministry confirmed this afternoon that Team Ghana will compete in the following disciplines.

Athletics

Boxing

Badminton

Table Tennis

Tennis

Fencing

Beach Volleyball

Weightlifting

Karate-Do

Taekwondo

Judo

Cycling

Swimming

Football

There will be a total of 26 sporting competitions will be taking place in Rabat.

Casablanca, El Jadida and Khemisset are the other cities to support Rabat for the games.
