The Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) is ready to play key roles in every activity of the Electoral Commission (EC) to enable the electoral body to discharge its constitutional mandate.

From public education, publicity, advertisements and other election-related activities prior to the election, the GCGL stands committed to partner the EC to fulfil its mandate efficiently.

The director of Marketing and Sales of the GCGL, Mr Franklin Sowa, who expressed this commitment of the company to build a strong business partnership with the EC to deliver a credible and fair election in 2020, declared that “as a company, we strongly believe that the 2020 general election will be one of the most successful elections to ever be conducted because as a credible brand, GCGL will objectively represent what the situation of the election is”.

Courtesy call

Mr Sowa, who gave this assurance when the Chairperson of the EC, Mrs Jean Mensa, paid a courtesy call on the management of the GCGL in Accra last Wednesday, said “as the most recognised news brand in the country, the GCGL is a brand that can be trusted, given the over 70 years of experience in the media and printing business, and we have what it takes to turn ideas into real life matters”.

The visit was, among others, to seek the support and partnership of the management of the GCGL as the EC fulfilled its constitutional mandate to conduct free, fair and transparent elections.

She was accompanied by her two deputies — Dr Eric Bossman Asare and Mr Samuel Tettey as well as a member of the commission, Ms Adwoa Asuama Abrefa.

Best deal

Mr Sowa said the professionalism the GCGL had exhibited over many decades not only in the media industry but also in the printing business placed the company as the number one partner of the EC in its publicity and printing needs.

“Our professionalism, expertise and state–of–the–art printing equipment give us the comfort that we can be great partners to deliver something great for our nation, and we are committed to anything that builds this country.

“We are willing to partner you in every activity of the commission,” he said as he emphasised the need for the two institutions to develop a structured agreement “that we all know what we are getting from it”.

He assured the EC that with its modern printing facilities, the G-Pak, a subsidiary of the GCGL, was well positioned to deliver quality and quick printing services for all election-related materials.

“So posters, flyers, leaflets and stationery are materials that the G–Pak can handle with ease. Apart from that if there are printing opportunities, the EC will get the best deal from the GCGL because we have what it takes to handle any volume of work.

Integrity, professionalism

For her part, Mrs Mensa said as part of its commitment to deliver a credible and transparent election in 2020, the commission would rely on the credible brands of the GCGL to propagate relevant content towards the success of its programmes from now and beyond the 2020 general election.

According to her, the integrity and professionalism associated with the brand ‘Graphic’ provided the EC with an avenue to transmit its programmes and activities to Ghanaians and expressed the confidence that its messages would be delivered accurately.
