The missing one-year-old boy at Adjei Kojo in Ashaiman has been found dead in a manhole.
His body was found around 6 am on Friday a few blocks away from his home. The corpse has since been taken by police to the Tema General Hospital morgue.
The boy’s uncle, Abdul Razak Mohammed who confirmed the news to Citi News, said the family got to know of their son’s fate after afternoon prayers on Friday.
They were at a family meeting when an Imam came over revealed to them that the child’s body had been found by a woman in the area in the manhole, which also serves as a makeshift toilet.
“Her daughter went to ease herself and she found the baby in the pit,” he said.
Abdul Razak said the family was still in shock “and the mother has recovered” from collapsing from her initial shock at the news.
The boy had gone missing on Wednesday and was last seen at his home.
The family of the boy suspected he was abducted by a lady while playing with his elder brother.
This death comes less than a week after a two-year-old boy who was allegedly kidnapped at “Chinese”, a suburb of Kasoa was found dead.
The boy went missing on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, but was found dead and the body hidden under some rubble two days later.
