The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will today close nominations in 20 constituencies in the Ashanti Region for the conduct of parliamentary primary elections.

All aspirants are expected to file their nominations on November 25, 2019 while vetting of the aspirants will take place on November 26 and 27, 2019.

The elections will take place on December 14, 2019.

A statement issued by the party listed the constituencies as Atwima Nwabiagya North; Atwima Nwabiagya South; Afigya Kwabre North; Kwabre East; Obuasi East; Obuasi West; Adansi Akrofuom; Manso Adubia; Bekwai and Nsuta Kwaman Beposo.

The rest are Afigya Sekyere East; Kumawu; Effiduase Asokore; Bosome Freho; Asante Akim South; Asante Akim North; Asante Akim Central; Ejisu; Oforikrom and Bantama.


The statement explained that the announcement of notice of elections was taken by the Functional Executive Committee of the party in consultation with the party’s Ashanti Regional Executive Committee.

It advised all stakeholders and interested persons to take note and comply accordingly.
