Tired
of waiting for a white collar job, enterprising graduate of the University of Cape
Coast (UCC) decided to try his luck by processing palm nut into a soup base.

Abraham Obo put his Bachelor in Management Studies aside and put his destiny into his own hands.

With very small
money, he launched his dream business with mortar and pestle in his mother’s
small kitchen.

Sharing his story on Y’asem Nie segment on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Wednesday, the young man said being jobless for many years motivated him to venture into food production.

“When I wanted to start, I didn’t have a dime on me but I was still determined. I looked around and thought of something that I could be good at and I came up with this idea of packaged palm nut,” he stated.

However, the road
to success has been very slippery as he had to use man-power in his production
which is also time consuming.

“I wake up at dawn and pound the palm fruit, remove the nuts and package it for the market. You can see I have good muscles now,” he jokingly told show sit-in host, Omanhene Kwabena Asante.

Determined to succeed, the graduate said he was able to mobilise funds and acquire a small machine to do the compressing of the palm nut into cakes for easy packaging.

Under the brand name Ready Ab3, the young entrepreneur said his sweat has really paid off and is hoping to expand production.

Asked how his family feels about his chosen career, the entrepreneur said “my father is very proud and likes what I am doing. He loves risk-takers and I have proved to be one.”

His dream is to build multi-purpose food processing factory to increase the production levels to supply both home and abroad.
